Our live debut. Obviously the day before we should have been rehearsing, getting a good nights sleep, maybe some quiet meditation....

No way. A close friend of the band was getting married the day before, which couldn't be missed. So we prepared for the concert by drinking unseemly amounts of red wine and dancing the night away. This meant leaving our equipment packed into the backs of our cars in a pub car-park the night before, and driving from Cambridgeshire to Yorkshire with an absolute terror of being stopped and found to be still over the drink drive limit.

Fortunately we all made it intact. John got totally lost and spent an hour driving in circles around Sheffield (but still made it there before Pete).

Adrian...well his gear anyway!

The actual music we played is now lost in time. We failed to set up a DAT to record it, assuming until the last seconds that the whole day was being recorded as with previous EMMAs. Wrongo! We have a few mental impressions but were too busy playing and being scared to remember much. What we do remember is the overwhelming reaction we got from the audience. Of course we're not to everyone's taste, but many people came up and congratulated us, and CD sales were excellent so I think that we can claim to have gone down well.

Overall Probably OK, but unless someone finds a recording... who knows?
